Not trying to dis on the trans-gendered. There are just so few of them with a filmography. Chaz Bono was once just placed in Mom and Dad's stuff and grew into himself with out public focus. Alexis makes you wonder if she realized her true self, or just needed attention because she was a lesser actor than her brother David.
I guess the point of this blog is that I have ideas I'd like to express, and I want to see what an audience thinks. That sums up the style of "film making" that is David Lynch. A lot of sweet (in the freaking context) concepts along with a lot of shitty ones. Throw them up to the wall, and they should all stick (candy and feces joke, clever right?). If he only knew that a certain degree of cohesion is needed, and he would have a lot more classics dependent upon actors (or Trent Reznor) delivering overly indulgent performances.
I have a documentary about the director in my Netflix queue, so I'm sure my opinion/understanding of the auteur may change. Of course, I also promised to produce an analytical review of "SLC Punk" for it's 10 anniversary. That review is coming, just maybe three (11) years late. Netflix may take the Lynch doc off my queue, so I should get around to watching it any time now (7 years later).
This blog is not as simple as it seems. It took me a night to make it presentable before I could start writing for it. A web auteur is a demanding challenge. I should trademark that as my web design "firm." Sounds like some nerd you wouldn't dick around with. Maybe Secure First would have paid up if I had that attitude behind me.
There, some left wing diatribe. If you do not want to support the people screwing up our country stay away from Secure First. They are a bunch of greedy misers who needed a website so you would not dream of heading to their virtually vacant office in the Regent Bank building downtime Peoria. If they do not want to pay for furniture to create a welcoming environment to abuse those who will be forced to turn to them because the Republicans neutered Obamacare by eliminating the public option, then why would they pay the kid who spent a year making them a presentable website?
I feel like clone, Sam Bell 7. And that's another reason that this blog took so long to post. My dead DVR lead me too watch Duncan Jone's "Moon" instead. I got lost watching that instead of writing the blog.
It's not ADD, I just take time to appreciate beauty and low brow doodles. That's why I won't give "Source Code" a chance. There is nothing attractive about a Jake Gyllenhaal film no matter how clever the sci-fi is. "Donnie Darko" is evidence of that.
If you want a truly circular story that is tolerable, "Lost Highway" will make you forget about the atrocities (with the exception of Justin Long's bunny and Dalton the child molester) of the "Darko" franchise. "Highway" is a nightmare. Poorly told, but makes more sense that Donnie's time travel adventure. It can be argued that Lynch even pays tribute to the car as the preferred method of time travel. I think it ends with Bill Pullman hitting 88 miles per hour.
And, I guess if you like circular blogs, MAINEVENTOFTHEDEAD.COM is for you.
