@QuidPro_Joe and I conclude our conversation that started with Adam Sandler's golden age that kicked off with "Billy Madison" and ended with "Little Nicky". We learn about his recent Vudu purchase from the Sandler filmography and how "The Longest Yard" created a need for him to express the joy that the former "Saturday Night Live" performer has provided him.

 

And since it was the 85-minute mark of the conversation, the booze may have taken hold. We go from trying to defend the Sandler's cameos in obnoxious Rob Schneider movies to trying to determine our favorite sub 100-minute features that he starred in. That may have been the goal of the podcast, but when we leaned towards "The Wedding Singer" the podcast goes off the rails as Joe tells us how "Wonder Women 84" tried too hard to capture the 1980s.

 

Reminiscent for the 80's, we go on to talk about everything Generation X and Millennials can relate to. We discuss 80's music (and how it kind of sucked), space operas like "Flash Gordon", "Star Wars", and "Star Trek", and why movies that are being sent to HBO Max are so damn long.

Outside of our conversation, I give my opinion on the well-meaning nature of Mitchell Whitt's "Morbidly Macabre" podcast episode about Chris Benoit. And since I am mentioning wrestling here, this is the first time on audio that I pitch for Marty Scurll's return to professional wrestling. If that does not get me cancelled, the apologetic review of "Bulletproof's" sense of humor might.

This is an eventful podcast episode because Joe and I are just going off the cuff. If you want the hot takes on Todd Phillips and his moronic fans who have lead to the greenlighting of "Joker 2" or need to know the level of my kink, episode 20 should satisfy.

I hope I am impressing or at the very least amusing you with this podcast and I am open to any and all criticism. The Toolbox Murders: Leatherface for LA

Tobe Hooper was a legendary and prolific horror director, but consistent in terms of quality was never the case. The only way to determine if a feature was his was through the utter chaos the picture provides. His remake of 1978's "The Toolbox Murders" is a prime example of this.

Nell cannot stand the Lusmar Arms, the building that hosts her new Los Angeles apartment. Nothing works, the renovations are moving along at a snail's pace, and all of her neighbors have an aura of creepiness surrounding them. It is also difficult to deal with the history of the building since the Black Dahlia lived one floor below, but the price is right at a $900 deposit and two rent-free months.

As the limited staff tries to restore this historical building, tenants are disappearing and the only one who seems to take notice of this are Nell and a former actor who has lived there for the past 60 years. After calling the cops twice for unfounded horrors she heard through the paper thin walls, everyone else residing there thinks she is nuts.

Using the clues provided by the elderly tenant and her fascination with the strange symbols through out the building, she is determined to find the missing tenants. The question is, can she handle who and what she will find?

Hooper's "Toolbox" takes a while to get going and its contradictory violence can frustrate, but it turns into a nice suburban homage to "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

The contradiction all lie in the gore. Women face gruesome demises, but Hooper cannot determine how far to take the brutality. If we are not going to clearly witness the drill going into her skull and out the other side, cut once we see the power tool and hear a final scream. Subtlety was what made his only true classic (I have not seen "Poltergeist".) so awesome.

Perhaps this was Hooper's intent. To pay respect to both of his "Massacres", violence committed against the men is so over the top which makes the third act a lot of fun. It is no "Life Force", but its fun especially with the twist the story provides.

If there was a little more gore to entice the audience, Tobe Hooper's "The Toolbox Murders" would be a made for DVD classic. I originally saw it on Fearnet (RIP), but it is available streaming at the lowest possible price (per JustWatch.com). At only 95 minutes, it is not too hard to be patient enough for this film be worth a view. The question is, can you handle the gore.

@QuidPro_Joe returns to stand up for the career of Adam Sandler, or at the very least remind us of the 10 years where he was the most reliable cinematic comic. If only Jim Carrey did not take himself so seriously.

 

We discuss how Adam Sandler's classics stack up to Chris Farley's. Another guest expresses more love for Paul Thomas Anderson's "Magnolia" which gives us a chance to reexamine everything from 1999. This includes a discussion that puts "Fight Club" in a battle with "Big Daddy". Who was the better teacher: Durden of Sandler?

 

The first half of our conversation covers all of the filmography of features that were just over 90 minutes. I cannot wait to rediscover how the two of us were able to keep chatting for another 90 minutes on top of that. I hope you enjoy some wrestling banter and tales of theater hopping to embrace R-rated features and Robert Rodriguez.

 Ichi the Killer: The First Live Action Comic Book

Are American comic book movies truly comic book movies (This review was written in 2010.)? It is without question that they, for the most part, have to stay away from the dark modern elements, but do they really look like a comic book (if Frank Miller is not involved)? Maybe that is too tacky for Hollywood when the dismissal of Frank Miller is apparent. I think they maybe missing the point. The pictures are the books' vision. Should directors skew them for their vision?

Takeshi Miike thinks not, and he has always been set on delivering the uncompromising vision of the newsprint vision. Even if that is an adaptation of the ultra violent, ultra misogynistic, adolescent tale of "Ichi the Killer (Koroshiya 1)".

Ultra masochistic enforcer Kakihara is determined to locate his missing boss and punish his kidnapper. He is more or less living in denial until he finds out that his gang is the target of Ichi, the ultra sadistic assailant who is so brutal, he needs his own clean up crew.

Nothing else is known about Ichi, so preparing for a showdown is near impossible. How will they react when they find out he is a crybaby desperately trying to find vengeance from those who picked on him in high school?

"Ichi the Killer" is both visually stunning while simultaneously being appalling. If you are a fan of Japanese culture, this is a treat of sheer decadence for anime and manga fans.

Similar stories to "Ichi" have only been available as anime. This is a story so twisted, it must be made as unreal as possible. Miike does that, but the brilliance of course is that this is a live action feature. The imagery is still shocking, but if you look closely, it is so outrageous that the ride your on reminds you of "The Pirates of the Caribbean (rapiness intact)" or "The Haunted Mansion".

Like the animatronics, the actors set the mood perfectly. You could almost swear that they studied every image of the character they were portraying from the manga. Once you get over the shocks, you will fall in love with the imagery of this living cartoon.

As for the story, embracing that can be extremely challenging. Not so much the violence, but the callous nature of it. Women are objectified and abused, and Ichi has be trained to embrace those concepts. This is a film with no protagonist, only victims and assholes that merge into one anti-Buddha. "Ichi" is a film you cannot take personally and must accept as a complete work of outrageous fiction. If you think about consequences beyond what the characters receive, you will not enjoy it.

"Ichi the Killer" is a story that affects its characters and its audience. It is an act of pure sadism on behalf of the director Takeshi Miike and masochism on behalf of the audience. A brutal relationship, but enjoyable for all involved whether they are willing to acknowledge it or not.

THE BIG LIE: AEW Is For Everyone

There was a lot to like about the May 12 episode of "AEW Dynamite". It at least gave us a title change which means I may have to update the OCHO: The Disgruntled's Real Secondary Championship (Sheamus holds it, but if he were to lose it, I think Miro has the edge over Apollo Crews.). The Forbidden Door gave us a great match up for the IWGP US Championship (Jon Moxley's reign during a pandemic puts him behind Crews and Miro in claiming the OCHO.). Tony Khan showed his flexibility as a booker to get to the ideal championship match for his next pay-per-view. Who better than the Young Bucks to disband The Addiction/Bad Influence (With no Scorpio Sky, was it really SCU going into the bout?)?

Of course I am bringing up all the grand things to say that something really got under my skin. That segment was Cody Rhodes's patriotic promo to hot shot his bout with Anthony Ogogo. Is there anything wrong with patriotism? In the United States, maybe?

Rhodes promo went on to say the world looks down on us over our screwy election. What was screwy with the election? He says that foreigners like Ogogo fail to see how far this nation had come from there being slavery in the South to him marrying a black woman who he is expecting a daughter with. The idea that we should all be proud of that schools are not segregated anymore was suggested as well. This seems to imply that racism is over.

The promo wanted to imply that Ogogo was a hypocrite for coming to America to find the "American Dream" and not the "English Dream". I think he was hired by AEW because of his international celebrity, thus more markets to sell the product to. If Cody was offered to act on the West End in London, would he turn that down?

There was also a rant about Shahid Khan reviving Jacksonville's economy with Flex-N-Gate, but after visiting their website and looking for job opportunities, there were none in any of Florida or its neighboring states. AEW has definitely not done much to improve the life of Jaxsons. I can even say that going to full capacity for "AEW Double or Nothing" in the midst of a pandemic in a state that just trusts you will not have COVID instead of asking for proof is going to harm many of this city's citizens.

Cody Rhodes said that what make America great is the freedom to argue. The problem with that statement is that it does not require any intellect or compassion to argue. Chris Jericho had demonstrated this with his calls to reopen. The gender reveal for Cody and Brandi's daughter shows they are a little more about them than WE. To call this patriotism is a mistake. This is selfishness that you are having everyone try to relate to. Selfishness is bad.

There is a reason why patriotism in the rest of the Western World seems to lack importance. Oscar Wilde nailed it with "Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious". Samuel Johnson beat him to the punch with "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel". When you lack anything positive to warrant you actions, just proclaim them as the thoughts and acts of a patriot. Ever since the lock downs began last Spring, we have seen that.

That promo left me feeling like AEW is of the stance that everything is fine with the world as long as it is not affecting them. I cannot recall them addressing the civil unrest last summer like other sports. There were talents with BLM armbands, but no side was taken by the company. They may be hiring talents from all walks of life, but they are not doing anything to bring diversity to the audience.

It feels to me that the audience is the same one that ran me out of the scene back when I called out Peoria's scene for promoting babyfaces who sport the Stars and Bars. If that is their audience, why do anything to piss them off like speaking well of President Biden or shutting down their belief about a stolen election?

I find it difficult for me to be misremembering much of this. My personal DVR is filled with most of the episodes dating back to June when I moved to my current place in Urbana. Pardon me for not following more people than the amount who follows me on Twitter (@catbusruss). AEW's entire roster may have made the right statements, but that is a lot of content to scroll through.

It just feels like AEW is content with the audience just being rabid. If there is a woke portion, that is just incidental. This leaves me feeling like they are no longer trying to change the world. They got their success. As long as the video game goes off well, they will effectively rule the wrestling landscape at least from a domestic stand point.

If I can take solace in anything, it was the perceived knowledge that there was at least a woke Internet fan contingent. My live tweets calling Cody out for his mistakes received some likes. But, booking our way out of this means for Cody to trademark "The American Dream" moniker was not well received. My suggestions that the bout should end with Ogogo's fellow Englishman Marty Scurll coming to his aid worked up some keyboard warriors.

"Stop trying to make this pedi a thing." Was how @trollwrestle responded to my suggestion. He immediately blocked me when I responded to him. It was less of a headache than dealing with @TruePatriot112 who lived to get the last word in whenever I suggested that Marty Scurll maybe pro wrestling's Aziz Ansari, but at least the Patriot112 wanted to try and speak "sense" to me.

If anything, this reaction shows that there are at least two audiences for wrestling. Too bad they are both dedicated to letting us know how right they are. I was able to counter every argument to just be told that is what happens to people like Marty Scurll (Scurll claims to have had consensual sex with a partner who was of legal age [16 in the UK] but was jerk about it while the other party claims it was a sexual assault.) while other confirmed sexual offenders (predator Jimmy Havoc, asshole Sammy Guevera) are allowed second chances.

Once a pedophile and predator, always one regardless of the legality of the first accusation and the lack of evidence towards the second was the stance being brought up. Patriot112 also went of to bash Scurll's current girlfriend because she does not see him as evil. I wonder who knows him better.

I will not deny that I can come across as stubborn when it comes to some of my views, but if I am stubborn, it is usually a black and white issue. Promoting people who were proud that their ancestors fought for the right to own people is morally wrong. Telling me that believing the above may not allow me to be booked is wrong...and stupid (Just say we do not have any openings.).

Do I think Michael Elgin is a rapist? The testimonies of the parties and Elgin's past behavior have me leaning in that direction. Regardless of my thoughts on this, it is on its way to be resolved in the courts.

It will take a lot of rehab for me to become a Rich Swann supporter. Because I am a codependent person, believing that he manipulated his significant other into saying he did not commit domestic abuse is valid. My best friend committed violent acts towards me, but I did/do not see them as irredeemable. It maybe just an empathetic nature, but I can consider their state of mind when it happened. If his significant other is feels he is redeemable, my stance maybe a bit harsh.

When both sides said an event happened, it is just perceived by both parties differently, the lack of a body kind of leads me to say this is not "Rashomon". Both sides have been hurt by this issue be it trauma or finances. How much hurting do we want to continue? If Scurll is left out of the business, his passion was killed. If he stays, unless he can "Scarlett Letter" this situation, it will always be addressed because her trauma should be recognized.

AEW has taken the approach of rehabbing people who have done or said worse things than Marty Scurll's act. You can call what Scurll did pedophilia but I have screwed up my search history enough to say it cannot be considered that (I am just assuming that searching "age of consent" does not look good.). We cheered on Luke Wilson in "Old School" for doing what Scurll did. Do we just abandon people if they get caught? If that is the case, why is Guevera working?

A company that you have a working relationship made their world champion someone who may have blackballed a #SpeakingOut victim. How can you say that after Havoc and Guevera that Marty Scurll is too much drama too handle?

So is AEW for everyone? I would say no. It is for the same wrestling fans that have excluded those who are different than them. The people they deem untouchable come from an audience that wants to seem concerned, but they are just trying to prove they are not the moron who held up insensitive signs during the Monday Night Wars (I will not call it the Attitude Era) or chanted degrading things toward women.

Mitchell Whitt from the "Morbidly Macabre" podcast and I conclude our conversation about 2008's "Dance of the Dead". We talk about its strong and beyond appropriate gore effects, how it stacks up against other zombie comedies like "Fido" and "Dead Snow", and how we have to get the theater business, at least on the Champaign/Urbana level, ready to blow the minds of those who will coming back to Ebert Fest.

There are some tangents like all good podcast should have, and I was a little bit naughtier than I should have been when it came to explicit language. Fear not irresponsible parents. All of the words used on this finalized podcast have been featured on Public Broadcast Stations. Oh how I love the importing of British comedy. It is silly that it is a good thing for BBC America to have lost its way.

 

And I will say, it was a relevant weekend when it came to this podcast. Mitchell had just gotten married on Saturday (I am sure his registry on Amazon and Target have some items they could use that their guests did not claim.). Finding out about Mitchell's family living in Jacksonville lead to a New Jack story (Rest in Peace). And to further display my knowledge of low-budget zombie movies, I revisited "Last Rites of the Dead" a.k.a. "Zombies Anonymous".

I also got to listen to the latest "Morbidly Macabre" episode about the Columbine School Shooting. If you really want to know what makes Mitchell tick, it is a must listen. As for the history of the topic, they nail down all the important details while walking a dangerous line of when or not empathy may have been warranted for the two boys.

A normal episode was promised this week, but 2 hours and 40 minutes later, we have arrived at our first two-part podcast. Ironic since this was the first episode that was going to be dedicated solely to one feature, in this case 2008's "Dance of the Dead".

Mitchell Whitt from the "Morbidly Macabre" podcast found that he was not alone when it came to the appreciation of "Dance of the Dead", a Ghost House Underground feature that was directed by Gregg Bishop ("The Other Side" and "V/H/S Viral") and written by Joe Ballarini ("A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting"). Ghost House Pictures was founded by "Evil Dead" and "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi and his producer Robert Tapert, so it was only natural to be drawn to a feature their money was behind with humor and ridiculous zombies to fight.

 

This led to a conversation that explores both of our experiences in high school. We discuss the concepts of: how prom really affects teenagers, the importance of trauma to really force us to grow up, and how we both ended up at one point or another in blue shirts with yellow tags. "Dance of the Dead" features characters that reminds all white kids how great it is to be done with public education.

This is a movie podcast, so we were wise enough to talk about the movies that made us like "Fight Club", "Choke", and the Coen Brothers. All of this did led to a conversation about which film of Joel and Ethan was number one in their filmography.

Death Race 2000 - Has Hollywood Missed the Point?

I happen to be a fan of director Paul W.S. Anderson, but he has a horrid tendency of missing the point. That is apparent with the direction of the "Resident Evil" franchise (Why would anyone write a film that brings out the worst from Russell Mulcahy?). There was his good "AVP" film that should have targeted an R-Rating just to prevent its bad and overly violent sequel.

Anderson's most recent flawed tale is "Death Race", an action drama without the camp/best elements of the film it was based on "Death Race 2000". It also lacked the dark humor and dead pedestrians. Since Uwe Boll has not obtained the rights to "Carmageddon", why would one abandon the grindhouse feel of this David Carradine/Sylvester Stallone classic?

The American way is to embrace violence, so say the president of the totalitarian United American Provinces. What better way to do so than by hosting an annual transcontinental rally known as the Death Race?

The nation's five best racers: Calamity Jane, Nero the Hero, Matilda the Hun, Machine Gun Joe Viterbo, and the rebuilt Frankenstein, will race across the country, from New York to New Los Angeles. Of course with so many miles to cover, the race would be pretty boring if they did not encourage running down the poor saps who happen to be on or near the routes. It is the first true sport that it is not about winning or losing, but how you choose to maim.

"Death Race 2000" shows how America has lost its sense of fun and imagination. Everything today is bleak as if we have given up because there is no threat of Russian Imperialism or American Fascism (The first draft of this review was written in 2010.). Our governments are stable and anarchy has no chance of changing the landscape of things to come. Marshall law or the kill or be killed mindset is just too impractical. It make me wonder how the "Escape From New York" remake will be worthwhile.

"Death Race 2000" is a vintage B-movie that may feature the only truly villainous Sylvester Stallone. Most of the budget must have went into designing the cars because the sets are beyond cheesy.

For the most part, the film delivers on action but we are kind of let down by anti-climatic deaths of the drivers. There is plenty of collateral damage, but no true car on car violence. This is a film where you want to joyfully cringe at the carnage. There is no room for a funny ha ha kill of our primary cast.

Aside from that, you cannot help but enjoy the premise and the tacky Roger Corman nature. It holds nothing back in terms of being gratuitous making it a brilliant grindhouse picture.

"Death Race 2000" is a prime example of the freedom cinema once had. A film for video game fans and anyone else with an American dark...black sense of humor. Nothing is tame about this film and the filmmakers need to start embracing that attitude once again.

 90-Min Family Video - Laid to Rest: Sloppy in a Good Way

A masked killer(s) maybe the lamest premise for a horror film. If not the lamest, that the simplest and most over done. But, as long as the violence is over the top, the feature has potential. No matter how crappy the editing, a film like "Laid to Rest" has potential.

 

 

A girl wakes up in a coffin at a Deep Southern funeral home. She is able to escape this portable tomb, but murder after vicious murder follows her. All of these killings are executed by a knife-wielding psycho sporting a chrome mask of a skull and a GoPro camera. Where is a amnesiac to hide in a town with no phones, only a few houses, and a convenience store?

Story wise "Laid to Rest" offers nothing new to the direct-to-DVD horror market, but it is so over the top that is easy to enjoy.

The gore is stepped up to a realism only reserved for war movies (or Italian horror). What puts it over the top is that it revels in its tackiness. Sawing off heads with a knife, using tire sealant to kill. Events like those make one wonder if MacGuyver is the guy under the mask.

Obviously, this film cannot be taken seriously for a second. It does hurt the story since we are never given any clues to the killers motives. There is no force of nature trying to balance the world like vibe that a Hannibal Lector or Anton Chigurh possess. He just kills and we are not supposed to ponder why. With that flaw, the ridiculousness of the feature means it can really only be considered comedic. This makes "Laid to Rest" A good B-move, but perhaps a lousy horror flick. Especially when it tries to shock you with the narrative.

Luckily, the film has enough sense to embrace the "unintentional" humor. You may not feel much for the characters, but you will enjoy guessing what their tongue-in-cheek demise will be.

"Laid to Rest" is a DVD whose box art is too intense for its nature. It should not be presented as the next horror franchise, but as a gornographic laugh fest that is in on the joke. If that was the intention, this feature is close to being deemed a classic. Shut Up! Your Bitching Did Not Fall Upon Death Ears.

Was our laughter too loud? Are we not taking your threats seriously enough? That is an attitude prevalent in multiple portions of my life.

You have morons on Facebook who post about their pride in being morons. This is not the stupid, "Back the Blue" frames on profile pics. At least you have genuine paranoia behind those. Criminal justice reform means that there will be more criminals in society. If they were sent to jail, they must be dangerous.

If you are from a place of privilege, I suppose you just want to feel safe. If you lock up all the have nots, then there will be none of them to threaten to rob you. Criminal justice reform means that we are no longer trying to keep up that standard. The end of cash bail means criminals only become accused, so they can skirt the system. This means the world will be more dangerous if they cannot be put in their place.

Prison is a place where the privilege fail to acknowledge that further criminal behavior is learned there. Do they only enjoy "Shawshank" for the tale of perseverance? Do they ignore Andy discussing how he never did anything criminal until he was sent to prison?

I say it is understandable paranoia, but anyone with a college degree who spouts it is probably just a racist. The criminal justice system made them feel like they were better than the downtrodden that were being trapped by it. If they are doing wrong regardless that our society makes it nearly impossible for them to survive on the straight and narrow, they deserve to be put away. They must accept that they will never be respectable.

People who think like the prior paragraph will claim it is not racism. It is just what needs to be done. This makes me wish there were a heaven and hell just so the ultimate wrong doers get sent to their appropriate place. In the end, these assholes at least came up with a long con to get what they want. The morons that I want to talk about did not take the time to come up with their stance.

The latest border I have seen on Facebook photos is "I would rather "poop emoji" in my hand and clap twice than take the vaccine." This one I saw was posted by a bartender from a bar in Peoria. At least I do not have to follow the bar's Facebook page any longer. Who would want to go in to a place that features people who promote unsafe work environments for its patrons? It is like, you are advertising your C grade from the health department.

Is it about individual freedom? It is an attitude of, "I want the freedom to make my own mistakes." I can appreciate that, but when it comes to not getting a vaccine for COVID-19, the mistake is one of the options when it comes to your choice. Not taking it means you are an idiot.

At least when you experiment with drugs, you can try to mitigate the risk. If you do heroin with other people, it is safer because in the event of an overdose, the others can take steps to rescue you from the mistake. When it comes to taking any substance to escape, you can figure out when/what your limits are and take actions to avoid making further mistakes.

And I will acknowledge, there are better choices than turning to drugs. They are definitely pricier if you have your vices under control or never had them to begin with. But, if you feel the need to tackle feelings and thoughts you cannot handle, you can find a therapist who is right for you. Perhaps I really need to do that, but I have got my blogs and podcast that make me do things to better myself.

My belief is that as long as I am working towards being the best me, I am dealing with my problems in a constructive matter. It is just more fun at times to treat myself with half of a fifth of vodka.

Not taking the vaccine is a bad decision on all fronts. I am putting myself at risk and just being vulnerable to the disease makes me a risk to others. Being told by the wise that I cannot enjoy something because I am putting myself or others at risk, how am I going to enjoy my life? Yet, having that attitude makes me a commie because I expect others to show compassion or self preservation. I am a communist because I believe that people cannot be trusted to act in the best interest of society. It is not because I care about my fellow human.

"I have the right not to be vaccinated and that is what makes this country great." If failing to use your brain or care about other people, then America is not that great. Education is a total failure. Just because we have been saying that since Jim Crow does not mean we just need to accept that.

"The vaccine was made to quickly." Right, so you would not have taken the polio vaccine the moment it was deemed safe. Things move a lot faster than they did in the 1940's. Time is relative, so I think it took the same amount of time when you examine this further.

We are not making kids take the vaccine. Was it not the fear of autism the reason that anti-vax movement became a thing? Anyone over 16 can only be retarded by blunt force trauma and post traumatic stress disorder. You are too old to call the vaccine dangerous.

The morons I admire are the ones who refuse to argue. Basically, they are the ones who would rather physically fight you instead of argue. Might equals right I suppose. If you kill the ones who are looking to avoid death, then you are right by default. If no one is around to call you a moron, then ignorance is truly bliss.

Sadly, these idiots need someone to cheer them on, so they turn to imaginary friends. These friends need stories to make them believable. That is how you get terrorism and WWE NXT referees.

Drake Wuertz is so fed up with having to concern himself with other people that he has gone off and said that COVID-19 was a hoax to allow for child trafficking. If we where masks, we cannot be identified. If kids are forced to wear masks, those who are kidnapped cannot be identified. Has this been a problem? That is irrelevant because it can be.

Why is his health solely his responsibility while teaching a child about stranger danger is the government's? It is supposed to be the responsibility of a government that he obviously does not trust. I suppose its god will as he says, so anyone who questions his logic is evil and wants to bugger his kid.

I suppose not wanting to get vaccinated is a clever means of having the government sponsor you. Drake Wuertz obviously does not care about the health and safety of the wrestlers whom he is responsible for, so he is no longer qualified for that job. If you do not care about other people's safety, you are not qualified to work in the service industry. You have to be concerned about the safety of others when you work in industry or entertainment. 

Being anti-covid vaccines is the new mental handicap. It is true because people refuse to acknowledge that you are not qualified to hold any job. I guess the solution should be if you are not vaccinated, you cannot govern. At least you have me acknowledging that I am not cancelling capitalism.

I appreciate all the support that I have been receiving for NinetyForChill.com - The Podcast that on its Facebook page, but we have to move it beyond just expressing it and showing some follow through. Pardon if I come off as rude, but you have given me some great ideas for future episodes. Their your ideas and I want you to help express them.

Another friend mentioned covering the filmography of Brian De Palma. That is a trickier concept because after "Carrie" he only has three films that fit the NinetyForChill parameters (74 to 99 minutes). But, one of those features is the Nicolas Cage starring "Snake Eyes". With a podcast dedicated to the campy, it may be a bit of a surprise to some that we have not covered this Coppola's work. The Coen Brother's "Raising Arizona" qualifies.

As for this week, I was not able to get a guest lined up. One of my friends is up for a vampire-themed episode, but circumstances dictate that we will have to wait to record it. So the goal of this episode is to be brief, have fun, and see if I can get this onto YouTube. In other words, I am taking a little conversation with ThePoeticCritic and seeing if I can elaborate on it for just under 10 minutes. This is my best attempt at satire on my show, so let me know if it works.

My older sister was discussing how only Disney's inhouse features are requiring a thirty dollar fee to watch them as new releases on Disney+. It seems the Pixar crew is upset that their releases, like the Academy Award winning best animated feature "Soul", lack the pomp and circumstance. This lead to me joking about, "If you want equality, we need a communist streaming service."

As it turns, I had the right numbers and came up with a way to fund progressive legislation via a government takeover of the first, best known, and the service that inspired the slang which led to the name of this podcast. It just felt good knowing that I am demonstrating more smarts than Tucker Carlson.

Sometimes I even amaze myself. I can only hope that I can do the same to you. This seems to be the right time to ask for the subscriptions and those five-star reviews on Apple Podcasts.
